Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a Government of India–owned public sector enterprise and one of the country’s largest telecom operators, has officially released the BSNL Notification 2026. The notification announces the recruitment of 120 Senior Executive Trainee (SET) positions.
These vacancies are divided into two streams Telecom and Finance as stated in the official notification dated 29 January 2026. The recruitment will be conducted through a transparent, examination-based selection process. BSNL Recruitment 2026 is considered one of the major PSU recruitments of the year, offering attractive salary packages, structured training, and postings across India.
Overview of BSNL Recruitment 2026
BSNL Recruitment 2026 aims to induct young and skilled professionals at the executive level under the Senior Executive Trainee cadre. This hiring initiative is particularly significant as it aligns with BSNL’s revival and expansion plans, including telecom infrastructure modernization and the adoption of new technologies.
As per the official notification, a total of 120 vacancies have been announced across the Telecom and Finance streams. Eligible candidates who meet the prescribed educational qualifications, age limits, and nationality criteria can apply for these posts.
BSNL Vacancy 2026: Stream-Wise Details
According to the official vacancy details, 95 posts are allocated to the Telecom stream, while 25 posts are reserved for the Finance stream.
Telecom stream vacancies are distributed across various reservation categories in line with Government of India norms. These roles primarily target candidates with engineering backgrounds in disciplines such as Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Instrumentation.
Finance stream vacancies are intended for candidates with strong academic and professional qualifications in accounting and financial management. Overall, the vacancy distribution reflects BSNL’s operational needs in both technical and financial domains.
Eligibility Criteria for BSNL Recruitment 2026
Candidates applying for BSNL Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the eligibility conditions specified in the notification. For the Telecom stream, applicants must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
For the Finance stream, candidates must possess a CA, CMA (ICWA), or MBA in Finance qualification. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply, and prior work experience is not mandatory, making this recruitment an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates.
The prescribed age limit is 21 to 30 years as on the cut-off date mentioned in the BSNL Notification 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms—3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Application Process and Important Dates
The online application process for BSNL Recruitment 2026 will be conducted through the official recruitment portal. Applications can be submitted from 5 February 2026 (10:00 AM) to 7 March 2026 (10:00 AM). A correction window will be available from 8 March to 15 March 2026, allowing candidates to rectify any errors in their submitted forms.
Applicants must upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, educational certificates, and category-related documents. The application fee is ₹2500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and ₹1250 for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
BSNL Exam Date 2026 and Selection Process
As per the notification, the BSNL Exam Date 2026 is tentatively scheduled for 29 March 2026. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at multiple centers across India.

The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of CBT performance, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
BSNL Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern
Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for effective preparation. The CBT will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 180 minutes.
The exam is divided into two parts:
Part I: 40 questions on General Aptitude, including quantitative ability, reasoning, verbal ability, and reading comprehension
Part II: 160 technical or professional knowledge questions related to the respective stream
Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect response.
Training, Probation, and Service Bond
Selected candidates will undergo a 52-week structured training program, which includes managerial training, functional training, and extensive on-the-job exposure. After training, candidates will be placed on a two-year probation period.
A service bond of ₹9 lakh is applicable, requiring candidates to serve BSNL for a minimum of five years after completion of training.
Salary Structure and Career Progression
Senior Executive Trainees will be appointed in the E3 IDA pay scale of ₹24,900–₹50,500. The approximate annual CTC ranges between ₹7–8 lakh at the initial level, including allowances and perks.
With experience and performance, employees can progress to higher executive grades such as E4 and E5. Additional benefits include medical facilities, pension schemes, HRA, and other PSU-related allowances.
